Abstract

Injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system are the second most common cause of temporary disability of the population and the third leading cause of disability and death. An effective treatment of these patients is arthroplasty. Annually 500–1000 patients per 1 million people in the world need prosthetics. In modern traumatology and orthopedics there has been a tendency to personified arthroplasty. The use of titanium alloys for the manufacture of implants allow most fully realize the important benefits: the best biocompatibility, high corrosion resistance, low modulus, high specific strength and endurance.
