The article presents an analysis of publications on the effectiveness of brachytherapy in the soft tissue sarcomas. It has been shown that this method is an important part of the combined treatment of this pathology and the indications for its use are constantly expanding. The authors point to a high level of local control of the disease (from 50 to 96 % of cases). The greatest effectiveness of brachytherapy is observed in combination with surgical tumor removal.

В статье представлен анализ публикаций, посвященных эффективности брахитерапии при саркомах мягких тканей. Показано, что этот метод представляет собой важную часть комбинированного лечения данной патологии, а показания к его применению постоянно расширяются. Авторы указывают на высокий уровень локального контроля над заболеванием (от 50 до 96 % случаев). Наибольшая эффективность брахитерапии наблюдается в комбинации с хирургическим удалением опухоли.
